We started the day with another wonderful breakfast courtesy of the Big Mama's kitchen in our hostel and after speaking to Damien, we decided to start the day with a climb through Vintgar Gorge. This is an amazing gorge through which flows a stunning river with lots of waterfalls and high cliff sides. A wooden walkway has been constructed which zigzags through the gorge taking you around the bottom of the high cliff sides and over the beautiful waterfalls. Of course Damien being a local knew everything so he had given us instructions on which was the best route, oh yeah and he had driven us to the gorge too.
We descended a small hill, from where Damien had dropped us off, to discover a beautiful big waterfall which marks the bottom of the gorge and you can see a picture below. There was an amazing rainbow which had formed too.
We made our way up the wooden walkway taking some lovely pictures whilst trying not get wet from the spray off the river. (which wasn't easy)
As we arrived at the top of the gorge we had to make our way down to Bled. On the way as we were applying our sun cream a man cycled past wearing long thick trousers, a woolly jumper and a woolly hat!!! Didn't feel that cold to us!! Walking through so many cute little alpine villages we arrived in Bled to beautiful sunshine. After some much needed food we climbed up to the castle to get a better view of the lake before making our way around the lake again. We returned to the hostel for another brilliant €6 meal then off to bed after some drinks with the Australians.
